Lauren Stauffer and Morgan Fitzgerald almost captured a win at No. 2 doubles, but fell 9-7. Morgane Flournoy and Connie Yoo both fought hard at No. 5 and No.6, respectively, but lost in third-set super-tiebreakers.

A Look at the William Smith Herons (9-6, 2-2)
The women's squad currently stands fourth in the Liberty League behind Vassar. No. 1 junior Hannah More has excelled this season with a nine-match winning streak. She holds a 16-4 singles record and a 15-5 doubles record with partner sophomore Michaelann Denton. The team picked up three freshmen, including Alex Greenberg who has made an impact at No. 2 doubles and No. 3 singles. She and Denton both earned their 13th wins of the season when the Herons bested Cortland on April 16.

Previous Meeting
The Brewers took out the Herons 8-1 last year. Kate Christensen breezed by More 6-1, 6-0 at one while Fitzgerald won easily at six. The same two Brewers captured an 8-2 win at three doubles.

Common Foes
William Smith fell to Skidmore 8-1 early in the season and later took a 7-2 loss against St. Lawrence. Vassar lost to the Saints 5-4 as well, but defeated the Thoroughbreds 5-4. Skidmore and St. Lawrence hold the number one and two spots in the Liberty League, respectively.

Liberty League Standings
Vassar sits third in the Liberty League Standings ahead of William Smith (9-6, 2-2), Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (5-8, 2-3), Union College (8-5, 2-3), Rochester Institute of Technology (4-11, 1-5) and Bard College (2-11, 0-7). Only Skidmore College (8-8, 6-1) and St. Lawrence University (12-5, 5-1) are ahead of Vassar. The Brewers handed the Thoroughbreds their lone conference loss of the season. Prior to that, Skidmore won 40 straight Liberty League matches.

The A Team
No.1 doubles pair Hanna McGuire and Shayna Becker have earned the Liberty League Doubles Team of the Week accolade three times this season. Despite both being abroad in the fall, the women have proven vital to the Brewer squad.
