NEW LONDON, CT (March 9, 2016) - Three Brewers notched a goal, as the Vassar College men's lacrosse team fell 13-3 at Connecticut College on Wednesday.
Noah Parson,
Liam Moriarty and
Brandon DeStasio all scored in the loss, as the Brewers fell to 2-2 on the season. Meanwhile, the Camels improved to 1-1 in their home-opener.
Connecticut College scored the first eight goals of the game before Parson put Vassar on the board with 30 seconds remaining in the first half, thanks to a helper from Moriarty. Parson now has a team-leading eight goals, while Moriarty has a team-leading seven assists on the season.
The Brewers scored back-to-back goals in the third quarter: Moriarty created his own shot at the 4:09 mark before Parson passed to DeStasio for a goal with 30 seconds to go.
DeStasio picked up six of the Brewers' 19 ground balls, and
Brandon Klein has continued to be solid on defense with three ground balls and a team-high three forced turnovers.
Pierce DellaFera paced the Camels with four goals, as Connecticut College went 3-for-5 in extra-man opportunities.
The Camels won 15-of-19 face-offs, which gave them momentum throughout the contest.
Bobby Bleistein earned the win for the camels with 10 saves, while
Brandon Crecco took the loss with 10 saves and 11 goals allowed.
The Brewers return home to host Wesleyan University at Weinberg Field on March 15 at 2 p.m.
