Last Time Out: Vassar shut out Clark University, 9-0, to jumpstart its spring season Feb. 13. The Brewers cruised through doubles to take a 3-0 edge into singles.
Daniel Cooper (Piedmont, CA/Piedmont) and
Nick Zuczek (Westerly, RI/Saint Bernard) finished with an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles to put the Brewers on the board. Cooper would later clinch the opener when he won, 6-1, 6-1, for No. 5 singles.
A Look At The Skidmore College Thoroughbreds: Skidmore looks to remain undefeated after sweeping the Bard College Raptors, 9-0, on Oct. 4. The Thoroughbreds look to build upon their 2014-15 season, in which they went 14-8 with a trip to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Previous Meeting: Most recently, the Brewers fell to the Thoroughbreds, 8-1, on the road Feb. 21, 2015. The match marked Vassar's first Liberty League loss after it had bested Union College and Bard earlier in the season.
Liberty League Honors: Four Vassar men's tennis players earned Honor Roll accolades in the Liberty League on Monday.
Nick Litsky (St. Petersburg, FL/Shorecrest Prep. School) was named the Liberty League Performer of the Week, while Cooper and Zuczek were named the Doubles Teams of the Week and
Nick Lee (Larchmont, NY/Mamaroneck) earned the Rookie of the Week honor.
Looking Ahead: The Vassar men's tennis team will hit the road for eight matches, beginning with a meeting at the University of Rochester on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016 at 1 p.m.
