Vassar Men's Squash Notes — Tufts, Wesleyan

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (February 12, 2016) – The Vassar College men's squash team will head to Middletown, CT to try to improve its 1-11 on Saturday against Tufts University at 12 p.m. and Wesleyan University at 2:30 p.m. This past weekend, the Brewers went 0-4 at the Liberty League Championships.

What To Look For
The Brewers will be looking to snap a 10-game losing streak on Saturday against the Tufts Jumbos. Vassar struggled in the Liberty League Championships on Feb. 6 and Feb. 7. On Day 1 of the Championships, St. Lawrence beat Vassar, 9-0, before Bard College took an 8-1 win. Earning a match against Bard was Vincent Mencotti (Birmingham, MI/Brother Rice), who defeated Rhys Nordstrom, 11-6, 1-11, 14-12, 11-7. The Brewers' most recent team win occurred in late October, when they defeated Siena College, 9-0.
 
A Look At the Tufts Jumbos (8-8)
As of Feb. 12, the Dunlop Men's College Squash Association ranked Tufts at No. 28 in the country. The Jumbos look to extend their winning streak to two games in the midst of a tough schedule. Their most recent loss came when Hamilton College won by a close score of 5-4 on Feb. 6 Prior to that, the Jumbos suffered two losses in the NESCAC Championship this past weekend. The Jumbo and Brewers' most recent meeting resulted with an 8-1 win for Tufts in the 2014-15 season.
 
A Look at the Wesleyan Cardinals (10-5)
As of Feb. 12, the Dunlop Men's College Squash Association ranked Wesleyan at No. 19 in the country. The Cardinals are coming off a strong performance at the NESCAC Championship, where they went 2-1 with wins over Connecticut College and Colby College. The Cardinals will be looking for their second win in a row this weekend against the Brewers.

On Friday Feb. 19, the Vassar men's squash team will travel to New Haven, CT to face the Yale Bulldogs in the College Squash Association Championship.
