Last Time Out: The Brewers fought hard, coming up short in a five-set thriller with Stevens Wednesday. Lead changes and serving streaks were the name of the game, ultimately putting the Ducks on top, outscoring the Brewers 77-71.

A Look At The Brewers:
  • Vassar's seven-game win streak was snapped Wednesday in the five-set match against Stevens. The Brewers look to regain momentum in the two upcoming matches before their final Liberty League weekend.
  • The Brewer defense continues to shine, averaging 14.3 digs per set led by Sierra Tobin, Annie MacMillan, and Jorden Schreeder.
  • The squad places two more with Liberty League honors this week, as Jane McLeod earns her fourth straight Rookie of the Week and Annie MacMillan earns honor roll.
  • The Brewers bring a strong blocking game, with Gabby Miller, Devan Gallagher, and Alex Sams coming into this match with over 30 blocks apiece.
  • Vassar's setting game is unparalleled in the Liberty League, with MacMillan averaging 10.23 assists per set; she has 757 sets on the season.
  • Miller comes into the weekend with 833 kills at Vassar, which is 15th all-time and just 21 kills short of former Brewer standout Jessie Ditmore '14 with 854.
  • MacMillan is currently on pace to finish the season with around 1100 assists, which would be the third-most in a season ever at VC while she would be only the sixth Brewer setter ever to break the 1,000 assist mark for a year.
  • Miller is hitting .174 for the season, which is a career-high for the outstanding Vassar outside.
  • The Brewers hold a huge 186-111 service ace edge on opposition this season.

A Look At The Blue:
  • After two big wins over Mount Holyoke and UMass Boston, the team's most recent contest resulted in a 3-0 loss to MIT.
  • The Blue will look to sophomore Yasmine Reece for offensive force. She's seen more than twice as many balls as the other attackers, pulling a .200 on 280 kills. Reece leads the NEWMAC in both kills and kills a set.
  • Sophomore setter Michelle Li proves to be the complete player with 548 assists, 121 digs, 21 blocks, and 47 kills.
  • Strong serving and defense create the spark for Wellesley, with 1.59 service aces/set and 13.5 digs a set.

Against Wellesley All-Time: Vassar is just 4-14 all time against the Blue; however, only four current Brewers have played against Wellesley in their careers, and it will definitely be interesting to see what the Brewers squad makes of them.

Up Next:  The team spends the week at home, taking on The Sage Colleges in non-conference action, Thursday October 13, at 7 pm in Kenyon Hall.
