Last Time Out: The Brewers went up against a strong New Paltz squad this past Wednesday in an exciting evening of non-conference play. VC came out on top 3-0, at 25-20, 30-28, and 25-23. Both teams put up impressive stats, but the Brewers had just enough of an edge to defeat the hawks in the three consecutive sets.

A Look At The Brewers (19-9, 9-3 Liberty League):
  • The Brewers will use this contest as their final preparation for the Liberty League Championships next weekend.
  • The Brewers have impressive momentum coming into this match, having won five of their last seven competitions—the two losses were extremely close.
  • Sophomore Annie MacMillan remains dominant in her position of setter, holding her rank as 14th in the nation for total assists—she leads the Liberty League as well.
  • The Vassar crew dominates the Liberty League in hitting percentage—they are currently hitting .218 with RIT trailing in second with .197.
  • VC leads the conference in kills with an average of 12.41 kills per set thanks to hitting leaders Devan Gallagher and Jane McLeod, both with over 300 kills (354 and 332 respectively).
  • Senior Gabby Miller comes into her last home match at Vassar as fifth in the conference for average blocks per set, at 0.55.
  •  The Brewers always capitalize on their home field advantage, and are 11-0 total at home (8-0 at home non-conference).
  • Senior libero Sierra Tobin has 352 digs on the season and averages 3.52 digs per set, landing her in fifth place in the Liberty League.
  • MacMillan is second in the conference in service aces, averaging 0.50 per set. Freshman Jorden Schreeder makes the top ten list as well. Vassar leads the Liberty League in average service aces per set.
  • The Brewers outscore their opponents in kills 1278 to 1022 this season, setting them up for what to be an intensely competitive game against a strong Ramapo squad.

A Look At The Roadrunners (22-3, 8-0 NJAC):
  • Ramapo is currently No. 3 in the region, while Vassar stands at No. 5.
  • The two squads have faced six familiar opponents, and both hold the same record with the exception of Vassar's loss to Williams in September.
  • Ramapo's gun, Larysa Iwaskiw has put down 512 to date, just 76 shy of the single-season record at Ramapo, set by herself in 2015. Though a junior, she has already shattered the all-time career kills record.
  • The squad relies on strong serving, putting up 2.8 aces per set, with a .91 serve percentage.
  • To add, the Roadrunners serve receive averaging just 1.1 errors per set.
  • The squad has gone down in straight sets just one time to date, to NYU on September 3. 15 of their 22 wins have been in three set contests.
  • Six roadrunners are good for more than 1.5 digs per set, making up their impressive team average of 17.47 digs per set.
  • Iwaskiw is currently the national leader in kills per set (5.83), just ahead of familiar opponent, RIT's Sarah Szybist.
  • Ramapo's two setters allow extra offense out of the front row, Shirkey and Selmore dishing out 5.26 and 4.64 assists per set respectively.
  • The Roadrunners are set to host their conference tournament, this being their 12th straight year in the NJAC post-season tournament.

Against Ramapo All-Time: The two teams have only met seven times since 1988. Vassar holds a 6-1 edge all time, losing in five sets in 2014.

Up Next:  The squad will host the Liberty League tournament next Friday and Saturday, facing off against RIT at 7:30 p.m. Friday, following the Clarkson vs. Union dual at 5 p.m.
