POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (September 26, 2015) - The Vassar College women's soccer team entertained No. 25 Montclair State University today on Gordon Field. They took a tough 5-0 loss and ended a three-game winning streak while allowing the squad's first goals since September 12th.
At the end of the day, the Brewers managed just two shots on goal while MSU landed five of their 16 attempts. This puts Vassar at 5-3 overall this season and Montclair at 7-1-1.Â
Ashley Koester was assisted by Janae Geonnetti to score Montclair's first goal right around the 11 minute mark. 17 minutes of play passed before Martina Landeka assisted Heather Sootkoos to MSU's second goal of the day.
Following suit, Kimberly Mignone scored her first goal of the season on a penalty kick. Tyler Madison was next to score for the Red Hawks, as she was set up by Mallory Higbee. In the 83
rd minute, Stefanie Gomes scored the fifth and final goal of the game off a pass by Kendel Bernardini.

Emma Nichols (Lexington, MA/Lexington) made five stops in the contest and the Brewers were out-cornered on the contest 6-2. Â
The Brewers will gear up to travel to Canton, NY next to play St. Lawrence University in a Liberty League match on October 2 at 4:00 p.m. this upcoming Friday afternoon.
