Results 
ITHACA, NY (May 3, 2015) – No. 16 Skidmore College used four singles victories, while winning one doubles match to grind out a 5-3 win over No. 21 Vassar in the Liberty League Title match Sunday afternoon. The win marks the fifth consecutive championship for the Thoroughbreds, who secure the Liberty League's automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament. 
The Brewers (14-6) got out to a 2-1 lead after doubles, as seniors Samantha Schapiro (Milford, NJ/Rutgers Preparatory School) and Ava Sadeghi (Glendale, CA/Campbell Hall) were again victorious for VC, downing Zoe Valella and Yumi Karlshoej 8-2 in the No. 1 match. 
Sophomores Shayna Becker (Murrieta, CA/University) and Hanna McGuire (Manhattan Beach, CA/Mira Costa) gave Vassar the edge heading into singles, as the duo won 8-4 over Michelle Fuca and Erica Meno in the No. 3 bout. 
Skidmore freshman Michelle Fuca tied things at 2-2, earning the first singles win with a 6-0, 6-1 decision over junior Winnie Yeates (New Orleans, LA/Isidore Newman School) at No. 5. Meno then put the Thoroughbreds ahead with a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 4 vs. sophomore Emily Hallewell (Washington, DC/Stone Ridge Sch. Sacred Heart). 
Finnegan notched her second win of the day, beating Becker 7-6, 6-1 at No. 6 to make it 4-2. The Brewers managed to pull within one after Schapiro picked up a 7-5, 6-1 win over Briana Greene to make it 4-3. Skidmore freshman Danielle Giannetti clinched the title with a 6-3, 7-6 (7-0) victory at No. 2 over Sadeghi. 
The Brewers will now await any at-large selections to postseason play in the coming week.
