Men's and Women's Squash Take Separate Trips This Weekend

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (January 30, 2013) – The Vassar College men's and women's squash teams travel Saturday to the Bronx, NY and South Hadley, MA, respectively, for their last matches before CSA Division III Champions.  The men face Fordham University and Ithaca College for the Fordham University Round Robin, and the women wil compete in the Seven Sisters Championship.

Men Times: 12:00 pm, Ithaca College - 2:00 pm, Fordham University

Women Times: 12:00 pm, Seven Sisters Championship at Mt. Holoyoke, South Hadley, MA

Vassar Men's Notes: The men (2-10) had a tough match against Haverford College, falling 9-0 last Saturday. The Brewers earned a default win against Georgetown.

Senior Jake Harris battled a close match against Haverford's No. 1, Andy McComas where he lost 3-1.  Final game scores were 11-5, 8-11, 11-5 and 16-14. Senior Rob Ruggerio had a tough matches at No. 2 as well, going 11-6, 11-2 and 11-1.

Vassar Women's Notes: Last weekend, the women (5-6) defeated Haverford College 5-4, but fell to Georgetown University 8-1. 

Senior Libby Pei lead the team with wins against both opponents, going 3-1 and 3-2 against Haverford's Caroline Nightingale and Georgetown's Chloe Fross, respectively.  Seniors Jill Levine and Avery Siciliano also had notable performances. No. 4 Levine bested Haverfor's Alisa Strayer 3-2 and No. 5 Siciliano defeated Haverford's Randee Johnson 3-1.
