Haverford Results

HAVERFORD, PA (January 26, 2013) – The Vassar College men's squash team fell to Haverford College 9-0 while picking up a default win against Georgetown University during the Haverford College Challenge Saturday afternoon in their return to the courts after the winter break.

Vassar No.1 senior Jake Harris narrowly lost to Haverford's senior Andy McComas 3-1 (11-5, 8-11, 11-5, 16-14). “Both men were eager to win their final conquest on the intercollegiate scene,” head coach Jane Parker said. “This made for some entertaining squash varying between explosive shot making and determined retrieving. The final game score, 16-14, told the story of the match.”

The Brewers (2-10, 1-3 Liberty League) will next travel to the Fordham University Round Robin on Sunday, February 3 to face Ithaca College at noon and Fordham at 2:00 pm. Haverford (6-3) will next host Franklin & Marshal and Johns Hopkins on Saturday, February 2 at 11:00 am and 3:00 pm.
