POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (November 18, 2012) – The Liberty League Men's Squash Championships concluded Sunday afternoon with the University of Rochester walking away with the title.

Rochester defeated St. Lawrence University in the final match of the competition 5-4 to claim the championship for the sixth year in a row.

Vassar (1-4) will next travel to New York University on December 1 for the Columbia Round Robin. Bard (2-9) will next travel to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to face the University of California and MIT on December 2. Hobart (4-5) will next host Hamilton College on December 2. St. Lawrence (3-1) will next travel to Dartmouth on November 30. Rochester (4-0) will next host Harvard University on December 1.

Vassar faced Hobart at the start of day two, and senior No. 1 Jake Harris beat McGee O'Neil in four sets (11-7, 8-11, 11-5, 11-5). No. 2 spot for Hobart Will Boyle won his match vs. Rob Ruggiero 3-0 (11-1, 11-3, 11-4) and No. 3 Edgardo Gonzalez went 3-0 against Christan Lyon (11-7, 11-4, 11-1). The final score was 8-1, Hobart.

Rochester and St. Lawrence both went 9-0 against Bard and Vassar respectively. Andres Duany of Rochester and Kyle Ogilvy of St. Lawrence both played the No. 1 spots and had 3-0 matches. Hobart went 9-0 against Bard.

In the final championship match, Duany faced Ogilvy and went 3-0 (11-5, 11-7, 11-8), while Rochester's Neil Cordell beat St. Lawrence's Ibrahim Khan 3-0 (12-10, 11-5, 11-5). Overall, Rochester's top five players went 3-0, allowing the team to take first place. St. Lawrence took second with four wins over Rochester.
