ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, NY (October 3, 2012) – The Vassar College women's tennis team swept Bard College (9-0), taking all singles and doubles matches Wednesday night.

The dual match was Vassar's first of the season and also the first Liberty League match.

Vassar (1-0, 1-0) will next travel to the New York State Championships at Ithaca College, NY on October 12-14. Ava Sadeghi and Samantha Schapiro will instead travel to Mobile, Alabama for the Intercollegiate Tennis Association National Championship on that same weekend. Bard is now 4-2 (0-1 LL) and will next host Ramapo College on October 13 at 1 pm.

The Brewers gave up only eight games to Bard in the six singles matches and three doubles matches. Sadeghi, Lindsay Kantor, Lauren Stauffer and Anisha Kurien were the singles players to have perfect scores of 6-0, 6-0.

The doubles teams of Sadeghi/Schapiro and Hannah Van Demark/Stauffer were two of the three teams to have perfect 8-0 scores.
