POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (November 5, 2011) – Coming into today's opening season matches against Ithaca and Haverford, the Vassar College men's squash team had two distinct goals: To defeat Ithaca and avenge last year's loss to Haverford. The mission was accomplished, as the Brewers won both matches by identical 7-2 scores at the Guy Fawkes Challenge at Kenyon Hall.

“The hard work the team has been putting forth to develop their technical and tactical understanding of the game paid off today,” said head coach Jane Parker. “The men came together as a team and performed in ways they hadn't previously been able to do. It's definitely a proud day for everyone to remember.”

The men will take their 2-0 record and a boost of momentum into next Sunday's home matches against Fordham and Bard. The November 13 matches start at noon at Kenyon Hall.
