ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, NY (October 5, 2011) – The Vassar College women's tennis team rolled to a 9-0 victory over Bard College on Wednesday night in a Liberty League match.

Freshman Ava Sadeghi, fresh off a victory in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Northeast Regional Championships, dominated at No. 1 singles, defeating Bard senior Sofia Commito (Reading, PA) 6-1, 6-2.

Sadeghi will compete in the ITA National Small College Championships in Mobile, Alabama, Oct. 13-16. The Brewers will compete in the New York State Championships on October 14-16.

The Brewers, 1-0 overall and in the Liberty League, didn't drop a set in six singles matches, and only lost one game in three doubles matches.

Bard, 4-2 overall and 0-2 in the Liberty League, next plays October 14 at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, Connecticut.
