NEW HAVEN, CT (February 19, 2010) – Playing up a bracket in the Chaffee Division of the College Squash Association (CSA) Team Championships, the Vassar College men's squash team dropped a hard-fought 8-1 match to a strong Cal Berkeley squad on Friday in the first round of play at Choate Rosemary Hall School.
The Brewers fall to 4-12 and will take on Haverford College at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Vassar downed the Fords 5-4 in the opening match of the season.
Freshman
Max Middleton picked up Vassar's lone win with a 3-0 (11-6, 11-8, 11-9) win over Kedar Viswarntran of Cal-Berkeley. In an indication of the competitiveness of the match, four Brewers went to four games, as No. 1 freshman Jacob Harris, No. 2 junior
Arjun Jain, No. 4 senior
Henk Isom, and No. 6 freshman
Andrew Lindsay all dropped 3-1 decisions.
