POUGHKEPSIE, NY (January 13, 2010) – In the final regular season matches of the season, the Vassar College men's squash team dropped 9-0 decisions to Connecticut College and Wesleyan University at the Vassar Team Challenge.

The Brewers fall to 4-11 and will next compete in the CSA Team Championships at Yale University on February 19-21. Vassar honored its four seniors, competing in their final matches in Kenyon Hall: Arjun Agarwala, Tobias Fox, Henk Isom, and David Prentice.

Although the Brewers dropped a 9-0 match to Connecticut College in the first match of the Team Challenge, junior Arjun Jain and Isom picked up critical game wins in 3-1 losses. Because the women defeated Connecticut College 9-0, games wins became the tie-breaker with Jain and Isom's wins giving Vassar the 29-27 game win to move to the first place match against Wesleyan. Jain dropped an 11-8, 11-3, 9-11, 11-3 match at No. 2, while Isom fell (11-4, 11-13, 11-8, 11-2) at No. 4. The Brewers also saw tight matches in No. 6 freshman Andrew Lindsay's 15-13, 11-4, 11-7 and No. 8 junior Ansser Sadiq's 13-11, 11-6, 11-6 losses.

In the first-place match against Wesleyan,  the Brewers were defeated 9-0, but in the loss displayed a high quality of squash. Each of the nine matches were competitive, with Vassar's sophomore No. 7 player MacNeal Middleton going four strong games aginast Wesleyan's Luke Wherry. Middleton droped the fourth game 12-10 in one of the hardest played matches of the event.
