TROY, NY (October 9, 2010) – The Vassar College women's tennis team won their second Liberty League dual match of the day with a 9-0 sweep of Rennselaer Polytechnic Institute this afternoon at Sharp Courts. The Brewers won six doubles matches and twelve singles matches for a perfect 18-0 record in their two dual matches today.
The Brewers (3-0) next compete in the New York State Championships on Friday October 15 through Sunday October 17. The Engineers are back in action on Tuesday, when they visit area-rival Union College at 3:30 p.m.
Vassar continued it's dominant dual match 18-0 doubles unbeaten streak with a 3-0 sweep of doubles.
The Brewers wrapped up the match with a 6-0 singles sweep for the 9-0 win. Sophomore No. 6
Melanie Horn is a perfect 6-0 in dual match play this Fall and defeated Jeanette Carillo of RPI 6-0, 6-2. Nicole Bock registered a 6-0, 6-0 double-bagel at No. 2 singles against RPI's Zosia Casterline.
