ontee advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III Individual Championships this weekend hosted by the University of Mary Washington, in the process becoming Vassar's first ever three-time ITA All-American. For the third straight year, Pontee won her first round match in three sets, defeating Kathryn Schmidt of Carleton College 5-7, 6-3, 7-5. In the round of 16, Pontee, an unseeded player, upset the tournament's No. 1 seed, Liz Lewis of Chapman University, 6-4, 7-5. Pontee faced the No. 8 seed, Grace Baljon of three-time defending National Champion Williams College, in the quarterfinals, falling in the only quarterfinal match to go to three sets, 7-6(7-3), 3-6, 6-2.
