Strand had a strong meet at Trinity, as the Brewers fell to the Bantams in a non-conference tussle. Strand's first win came in the 100 breaststroke thanks a time of 1:00.55. Strand's second win was in the 200 breaststroke, as he ran away from the field with a 2:15.44, which was nearly 11 seconds better than the runner-up. He also finished second in the 200 IM after swimming a 2:05.42.
