Junior Mary Margaret McElduff helped the Vassar women's rugby team to a superb weekend at the American Collegiate Rugby Association 7s Championships, as she helped a small group of 13 players go undefeated Saturday, falling to Rutgers University Sunday in the playoff round.Â
McElduff posted two tries for the weekend, while chalking up four conversions. She scored her first try against the US Coast Guard Academy in a 27-0 victory, following that up with a huge game tying try against Drexel. Needing the con to win the game, the confident kicker stepped up and drilled the ball through the posts to give VC the 14-12 win over the Dragons.Â
