Jorge Rivera posted his best week as a collegiate this past week, as Rivera averaged 4.08 kills per set, including going for 49 kills in three matches, hitting .284 in a 2-1 week for VC. Rivera started the week with nine terminations in a 3-0 win over Endicott, finishing with seven digs as well. The next day, Vassar knocked off No. 13 MIT thanks to a career-high 20 kills from Rivera, as he hit .311, posting his second career double-double with 12 digs. He followed that up with 20 more kills in a four-set loss to Lasell, hitting .297 in the match, adding seven more digs. He was the first Vassar player to post back-to-back 20+ kill contests since 2011, and the first freshman to accomplish the feat ever at Vassar.Â
