Despite losses to Utica and Liberty League opponent Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Nicol faced a total of 87 shots with 31 saves. Utica rifled out 47 shots with Nicol stopping 17 and allowed 14 in. RPI was held to a stand-still until the fourth quarter where the Engineers added five goals for the 10-5 win. RPI had 40 shots with Nicol saving 14.
