Erickson's near-winning performance powered Vassar to its seventh straight VC Invitational championship. His second place finish (20:26) was by a scant second in a 6k race that came down to the wire. It was the first time in Erickson's career he was Vassar's top finisher. His strong outing in a 94-runner field dramatically improved his sophomore time in the same event by a whopping 4 minutes, 28 seconds.
