Vassar College Director of Athletics and Physical Education Michelle Walsh has announced the hiring of Nicole Galewski in the new position of Assistant Director of Athletics for Facilities, Events and Scheduling in 2024.
Galewski moves into the new position with the Brewers as she has been the assistant men's and women's track and field coach since the spring of 2023. She also was the recruiting coordinator for the track and field squads and also served as a Facilities Assistant where she reported directly to the Associate Director of Athletics for Facilities and Events.
"Since beginning work with the department in March of 2023, Nicole has demonstrated a deep commitment to providing the best possible experience for her student-athletes, an outstanding dedication to her facilities and game management work, and had begun to emerge as a leader among our game management team", said Walsh. "I am excited to see what she will bring to the department in this new role."
In the role of a Facilities Assistant, Galewski was responsible for supervising all work study students at events and also served as a site manager for all external groups. She also helped manage the practice and competition field lights using Musco Lighting for all varsity sports and the recreational department.

"I look forward to building upon my existing relationships and knowledge of facilities to best support our student-athletes, staff, and community."Â
Galewski spent three years as the assistant men's and women's track and field and cross country coach at Bridgewater State where she specialized in vertical and horizontal jumps as well as managing recruiting efforts. During her time with the Bears, the men's indoor and outdoor track and field team won two MASCAC titles along with the men's cross country team winning the MASCAC title in 2019. She also coached a NCAA DIII qualifier in the men's high jump and the individual MASCAC champion in the women's high jump.
After her time at Bridgewater State, Galewski has spent the last four years as a K-5 Elementary Physical Education in both Whitman, Massachusetts as well as Buffalo, New York before arriving in Poughkeepsie.Â
Galewski had a decorated collegiate career at Franklin Pierce from 2013-17 as she was a member of the women's track and field team as well as the women's soccer squad. She finished her athletic career as a two-time Outdoor NCAA Championship qualifier in the heptathlon along with a four-time USTFCCCA Indoor All-East Region in the pentathlon and hurdles and a three-time USTFCCCA Outdoor All-East Region in the heptathlon and hurdles. Galewski is the school record holder in the heptathlon, pentathlon, outdoor long jump, indoor high jump and the 4x200 relay.
Galewski graduated from Franklin Pierce with a bachelor's degree in Psychology in 2017 and then received her Masters of Education in Special Education in 2019.
