Andrew Mpasiakos

Andrew Mpasiakos enters his fourth season on the Vassar College men’s soccer coaching staff in 2025, serving as Associate Head Coach after his promotion in July 2024. He joined head coach Jonathan Hood, Ph.D., ahead of the 2022 season.

Since arriving in Poughkeepsie, Mpasiakos has helped elevate the Brewers into one of the Liberty League’s top programs. In his first season on staff, Vassar went undefeated in regular season conference play and advanced to the NCAA Second Round. In 2023, the Brewers returned to the Liberty League Tournament, and in 2024 captured their first Liberty League Championship since 2016. Vassar went on to defeat Rowan 3-0 in the NCAA First Round before reaching the Second Round once again.

During his tenure, Mpasiakos has mentored the 2023 Liberty League Player of the Year, the 2024 Liberty League Rookie of the Year, and helped earn Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year honors in 2024.

Beyond his work at Vassar, Mpasiakos has made an impact across the Hudson Valley soccer landscape. In January 2023, he became head coach of Pathfinder FC’s USL2 squad, guiding the team from one win the year prior to a 5-5-4 record and a fourth-place finish in the Northeast Division. In May 2024, he joined the Hudson Valley Hammers USL2 staff while leading the club’s USL Academy side to a first-place 7-2-1 mark. In July 2024, Mpasiakos was appointed the Director of Coaching for the Town of Poughkeepsie Soccer Club.

Mpasiakos has had previous assistant coaching stints at Case Western Reserve University (2020–22) and Goucher College (2018–20), where he helped produce multiple All-Conference, All-Region, and Academic All-American players.

His youth coaching background includes time with Team Challenger FC, Liverpool FCIA, Cedar Stars Academy, and the New York Red Bulls Youth Academy.

He holds a USSF B License, a USC Premier Diploma, and a USC Director of Coaching Diploma.

A four-year mens soccer player at Virginia Wesleyan University, Mpasiakos helped the Marlins capture the 2013 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championship and qualify for the NCAA Tournament.

He earned his B.A. in International Studies in 2017 and completed a Master’s in Education in Athletic Administration and Leadership at Goucher College in 2019.
