2015:
XC: Payne saw eight races this season and made an impact right away as a freshmen...placed in the top seven in five of the races competed in...was 5th for VC in her first meet as a Brewer, running 12:02 for 3200m on the track at the SUNY New Paltz Season Open...clocked a 19:12 at Saratoga to run her all time personal best for the 5k...placed 7th for the squad at the highly competitive Purple Valley Classic...had her best race of the season posting a 3rd place finish among her teammates to run an impressive 23:54 at the Geneseo Invite...her last race of the season came at the ECAC Championships where she ran a 25:08 for 6k to help lead the Brewers.
PRIOR TO VASSAR: Earned four letters as a member of the cross country team at Thomas Worthington High School in Worthington, Ohio, also lettering in track for three seasons...voted as both a cross country and track captain during her senior year...in cross country, was a All-Ohio Capital Conference second-teamer in 2013, earning Honorable Mention in 2014...earned First-Team ALl-District as a junior and senior...regional qualifier in 2014, making the state meet in 2013...earned Academic All-Ohio Award in 2013...in track and field, earne Honorable Mention All-Conference in the 4x800 and 1600 meters in 2015...earned honorable mention All-District distinction in the 4x800 in 2013 and 2015...regional qualifier in the 4x800 and 1600 meters...earned a spot at the indoor state meet in 2014 and 2015 in the 4x800 relay...earned Ohio High School Athletic Association Archie Griffin Sportsmanship Award in 2015...TWHS Sportsmanship, Ethics and Integrity Award...earned Columbus Dispatch Scholar-Athlete Award in 2015...Thomas Worthington Scholar Athlete all four years...National Merit Commended Scholar...National Honor Society member...Spanish National Honor Society...TWHS Wind Ensemble clarinetist.
