Vassar College Head Women's Soccer Coach
Keith Simons has announced the addition of Samantha Schmidt to his program's coaching staff as an assistant coach for the upcoming 2024 season. Schmidt comes to Poughkeepsie after serving as an assistant coach at Russell Sage in 2023.
After serving as a graduate assistant with the Gators in 2022, Schmidt was promoted to assistant coach in 2023 and assisted in the day-to-day running of the program. Schmidt assisted in the implementation of game and training programs while assisting and implementing an effective recruiting plan for prospective student-athletes.
In addition to her work with Russell Sage, Schmidt also brings extensive club coaching experience, preparing and implementing curriculum as the head coach of the U8 and U10 programs with the Albany Rush since 2022. Schimdt also served as a Summer Camp Coach at Beestera Soccer Training Company since 2020.
A four-year member of the women's soccer team at Russell Sage, Schmidt was a four-year starter and served as a team captain both as a senior and a graduate student. Schmidt graduated as the program's all-time leader in starts with 72 and was named First Team All-Empire 8 and to the Empire 8 All-Tournament Team in 2021.
Schmidt, who holds a USSF D Liscense, graduated from The Sage Colleges with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in December of 2020 and went on to earn her Masters in Childhood/Special Education from Sage in 2023.
