Laura Williamson

Laura Williamson enters her third season with the Brewers after posting winning records of 9-8-2 and 9-7-1 in her first two seasons. In 2013, Williamson saw her squad finish with a 4-3-1 record in league play, second-best in program history.

Williamson, who was involved in all aspects of coaching and administration at Stevens, came to Vassar following a highly successful stint with the Ducks. Following a 6-12 season her first year in 2009, Williamson was instrumental in a program that won the Empire 8 Conference as the No. 3 seed in 2010 and defended its title the following season without losing a single conference game in capturing both the regular season and conference championships.

She was part of the 2011 Empire 8 Conference Coaching Staff of the Year and helped lead the Ducks to a first round victory in the 2010 NCAA Division III Championships.

Williamson, who earned her NSCAA Advanced National Diploma in January 2011, is a proven national recruiter who helped land the previous two Empire 8 Conference Rookie of the Year selections to Stevens.

Among her many duties at Stevens, Williamson planned and executed practices, handled film analysis and breakdown, coordinated team travel and fundraising. Her fundraising efforts enabled the Ducks to take a team service trip to Paraguay. The past three summers she has been the Director of the Stevens Soccer Summer Student-Athlete Experience. Off the field, the Stevens team distinguished itself by earning five straight NSCAA Team Academic Awards with an overall team GPA of 3.34.

Prior to joining Stevens, Williamson was an assistant women's soccer coach and Administrative Fellow at Smith College from August 2007 to May 2009. She has served as head coach of the Brooklyn Patriots U-18 team since August 2011. Williamson has been involved in various capacities with the NYC American Youth Soccer Organization (2009-present), the Western United Soccer Club U-13 (2008) and the Maine Coastal United U-16 (2007).

Williamson is a 2007 graduate of Colby College with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in Education. She earned her Master of Science in Exercise and Sport Studies from Smith College in May 2009.

A women's soccer team captain at Colby in the 2006 season, Williamson graduated as the school's all-time leading scorer in goals and points. She was named the NESCAC Rookie of the Year in 2003 and earned All-Conference selection all four seasons.

She earned CoSIDA Academic All-America accolades as a senior in 2007, the same year she was Colby's Marjorie D. Bither Award, presented to the senior female athlete who showed outstanding athletic ability, academic achievement and leadership skills during their collegiate years. Williamson also captained the Colby basketball team in the 2005-2006 season.
