Cyrus began their rugby career at Vassar College, under the coaching of Tony Brown and Mark Griffiths. They graduated in ‘03 with a BA in Anthropology, having contributed to multiple regional titles and the team’s first ever qualification for the USA Rugby D1 Sweet 16.
Cyrus then played with various Tri-State area teams, culminating at the Premier League level with NYRC. They retired from playing at this elite level in 2016. Throughout their rugby career, they earned several team awards, played with select sides, and won championships, including the National All-Star 7s tournament as a member of the Northeast 7s Select Side. They are no stranger to playing beside and against USA Eagles, and have been fortunate to experience top-level coaching.
Cyrus is a certified Athletic Trainer, a certified Personal Trainer, a Level 1 rugby referee, and a USA Rugby Level 200 coach. Over the last decade, they have coached Seton Hall Men's Rugby, SUNY-Purchase Women's Rugby, and the Hudson Valley Rebels Women. They are enthusiastic about giving back to the program that set them on the path to years of great memories.
