2024-25: As captain and squad leader, totaled a 36-36 record in her senior semester… Went 6-0 in pools and won one direct elimination to place 9th at the NEIFC Big One… Went 5-9 at the Vassar Invitational with victories over Fairleigh Dickinson (2-1) and Lafayette (2-1)… Went 9-14 at the NFC Varsity Meet with victories over Brandeis (2-1) and Tufts (2-1)… Had a victory over Sacred Heart (1-2) at the Sacred Heart Tradition Meet… Went 12-0 at the Matt Lampell Invite with victories over CCNY (3-0), Bryn Mawr (3-0), Drew (3-0), and Army (3-0)… Went 3-3 at the Brian Palestis Memorial Invitational with victories over Wagner (3-0)… Went 6-5 at the EWFC Championship with victories over Haverford (1-0), Denison (2-1), and Hunter (2-1)… Went 10-3 at the NEIFC Championship, which helped Vassar place 2nd for Top Women’s Epee Squad and 3rd for the Women’s 3-Weapon Team Championship… Placed 44th at the NCAA Northeast Regional.
2023-24: As captain and squad leader, accomplished a 47-18 record in her junior season… Went 5-1 in pools and won five direct elimination bouts to place 2nd at the NEIFC Big One, for which she received Brewer of the Week… Went 10-2 at the Vassar Invitational with victories over Dennison (2-1), Lafayette (3-0), Drew (2-1), and Haverford (3-0)… Went 12-10 at the NFC Varsity Meet with victories over MIT (2-1), Tufts (2-1), Brown (2-1), and Wagner (2-1)… Went 2-1 at the Sacred Heart Tradition Meet with a victory over Sacred Heart (2-0)… Went 11-1 at the Matt Lampell Invite with victories over Hunter (3-0), for which she received Brewer of the Week… Had victories over Wagner (3-0) at the Brian Palestis Memorial Invitational… Went 9-4 at the EWFC Championship with victories over Wellesley (2-1), Haverford (3-0), and Drew (2-1) and placed 3rd in the individual round, for which she earned First Team All-Conference… Went 7-6 at the NEIFC Championship… Placed 35th at the NCAA Northeast Regional.
2022-23: As squad leader, completed her sophomore season with a 45-34 record… Went 11-4 at the Vassar Invitational with victories over Haverford (3-0), LIU (2-1), Drew (3-0), and Wagner (2-1)… Went 4-8 at the Sacred Heart Traditional Meet with victories over Harvard (1-1), NJIT (1-1), and Temple (2-1)… Had victories over Incarnate Word (2-1) at the Cleveland State Invitational… Went 10-8 at the NFC Meet #2 with victories over Tufts (2-1), MIT (2-1), Brown (2-1), and Boston College (2-1)… Went 14-6 at the NFC Meet #3 with victories over Dartmouth (3-0) and UNH (3-0)… Went 4-5 at the EWFC Championship with victories over Denison (3-0)… Went 13-3 at the NEIFC Championship, which helped Vassar place 1st for Top Women’s Epee Squad, and placed 7th in the individual round… Made the semifinal pool at the NCAA Northeast Regional and placed 16th, for which she earned Division III All-American Second Team… Awarded Division III Women’s Epee Athlete of the Year.
2021-22: NFC Epee Second Team All-Star....USFCA All-Academic Team....Posted a 58-30 record during her first season… Placed in the top 16 at The Big One… Went 16-4 at the Vassar Invitational, with wins over Haverford (3-0), LIU (2-1), Drew (2-1), FDU (2-0) West Point (2-1), Denison (3-0), and Lafayette (2-1)… Went 10-2 at the Matt Lampell Hudson River Invite, with victories against Drew (3-0), RPI (2-0), and West Point (2-1 and 2-0)… Went 6-2 at the Northeast Conference (NFC) Multimeet #2, beating Dartmouth (1-0), Brown (1-0), Brandeis (2-1), and MIT (2-1)… Went 9-4 at the NFC Multimeet #3 with wins against Tufts (2-1), U Mass (2-1), and SHU (3-0)....Went 10-2 at the Eastern Women’s Fencing Conference Championships, with victories over Stevens (2-1), JHU (3-0), Drew (3-0), and Wellesley (2-1)… Placed 6th at the New England Intercollegiate Fencing Conference Championships, leading the women’s epee squad to a 3rd place finish… Placed 40th at Northeast Regionals.
PERSONAL: Parents are Stacie and Peter Barnes... One sibling, Charis. On deciding to attend Vassar, "I chose Vassar College based on a recommendation from a current student. Once I looked into their political science program and fencing team, I was sold!"
