2015-16: Liberty League All-Academic...The sophomore guard continued to play a vital role for the Brewers. Samarah played in 20 games, starting in 16. She totaled 411 minutes on the court over the course of the season. Cook averaged 5.6 points per game, scoring a total of 112 points. This places her in the top five scorers for the Brewers. She made 15 three-pointers this season. Samarah averages 1.6 rebounds per game. Over the season she totaled 32 assists, placing her as number five for the Brewers in assists. Cook scored a season high of 14 points against Haverford College (11/21/15). In a match up against SUNY Geneseo (11/24/15), she racked up 13 points and 4 assists.
2014-15: The freshman guard had a solid season for the Brewers, playing in all 25 games while earning three starts...picked up her first collegiate start at Union Collge January 3...averaged 3.9 points as a freshman...third on the team with eight made three-pointers...scored her first collegiate points at Babson in the season opener, connecting on her first three-point attempt of her career...posted a career-high 14 points at Mount Saint Mary Dec. 2...played a season-high 35 minutes against Hartwick College, posting 11 points and dishing out a career-high four helpers and posting four steals Dec. 30...scored nine points, making all six free throws against Wesleyan Nov. 25...finished the season with eight points against RPI on Feb. 20...pulled down four rebounds in three different games...shot 90.5 percent from the line on the season, making 38-of-42 from the line...averaged 19.5 minutes per game on the year.
PRIOR TO VASSAR: Attended both Ridgefield High School and Joel Barlow High Schools as a prep...played varsity for two seasons at Ridgefield before finishing her high school career at Barlow as a senior...earned All-Southwest Conference honors...was also a standout on the tennis court as well, going undefeated as a No. 3 player...earned team MVP honors in tennis, winning both the team and individual championships...helped her AAU basketball team to a Zero Gravity title during her 2012 season with Hoops Express...graduated in the top 12 of her class at JBHS...was a National Honor Society member...named Honor Roll in all quarters in high school.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Haleh Ghanizadeh and Gabe Cook...two siblings, Kian (19) and Darian (16)...majoring in neuroscience and behavior...legacy student whose parents met at Vassar.
