Margaret White, a 2009 graduate of Gettysburg College and a four-year letter winner on the women's basketball team, enters her first season as assistant coach for the Brewers.
White comes to Vassar after serving as the assistant women's basketball and head junior varsity coach at Elmira College last season.
At Elmira, she was responsible for on-court coaching, recruiting, scouting, tape exchange, academic monitoring, scheduling and game administration.
“I am excited to have Margaret on our staff this upcoming season,” said Brown, named the 2011 Liberty League Coach of the Year after leading the Brewers to their first-ever league title and NCAA Championship bid last season. “I know Margaret will be instrumental in helping us continue the success the program has enjoyed the last two seasons.”
White captained the Gettysburg team her senior season and was named to the Centennial Conference All-Sportsmanship Team. She was also a member of the conference Academic Honor Roll.
White has been active in summer camps at Emory, Maramount (VA) University, Elmira and Gettysburg the past four summers.
White graduated Summa Cum Laude from Gettysburg with a BA in Sociology and a minor in Spanish. She earned a Masters of Science in Education degree from Elmira in June, 2011.
