2016: The senior outside hitter moved around where he was needed during his senior campaign, getting run at outside hitter, middle hitter and right side throughout the year...Halberg played in 25 matches in 2016, starting 11 times while getting into 71 sets...posted 88 kills in his senior season, hitting .176 for the year...also posted 19 aces...totaled 25 blocks in 2016...had a season-high nine kills against Wells College April 2...posted back-to-back eight kill performances against No. 1 Springfield College (Jan. 30) and Ramapo (Jan. 30)...started the season with seven terminations against Wentworth Institute of Technology (Jan. 22)...posted a season-high 10.5 points against York March 23, posting five kills, three aces and four total blocks...rejected four attacks against Mount Ida Feb. 6...had a season-high six digs against D'Youville March 18...Halberg finished with 350 kills and 182 total blocks for his career.
2015: Halberg had another effective season as the team's most durable player...the junior has missed just one set of action over the last two campaigns, playing in 106 of the team's 107 sets this year...has now played in 221 of Vassar's last 222 sets of action...was sixth on the team in kills this season, as he accumulated 95 terminations...hit .288 as a junior, which was third-best on the team among hitters...finished second on the team in total blocks with 66 rejections...was also second on the squad in service aces with 37...was fifth in the UVC in aces per set with 0.35...posted a season-high eight kills on eight attempts against Medgar Evers Feb. 12...totaled seven kills at Brooklyn College March 26...chalked up five or more kills eight times...had a season-high five blocks on three occasions...blocked five attempts in a five-set win against MIT March 14...assisted on five rejections in a win over Staten Island Feb. 20...opened the year with five blocks against Wells Jan. 23...had two or more aces 12 times...posted at least one service ace in all but four matches...season-high four aces in a five-set loss to Nazareth Jan. 24...36 aces were the eighth most in a season ever at VC.
2014: Played in all 115 sets, the most in Vassar history, across all 31 matches…started all 31 matches…fourth on the team with 125 kills…hit .162…led the team with 84 blocks, the tenth-highest block total in Vassar history…recorded 42 digs, 21 aces, and ten assists…tied a career-high with nine kills on a career-high .900 hitting percentage, and added three blocks and a season-high two aces against Elms Feb. 1…contributed seven kills against Ramapo Feb. 1…recorded seven kills and six blocks against NYU Feb. 27…had six kills and a career-high five digs against Bard Mar. 5…had eight kills, hit .313, and tied a career-high with five digs against Penn State-Behrend Mar. 8…recorded four kills and six blocks against Hilbert Mar. 6…contributed three kills and a career-high seven blocks against Wentworth Mar. 14…had 12 matches with at least five kills…had 17 matches with at least three blocks.
2013: Played 33 sets across 16 matches…recorded 42 kills, 19 digs and six service aces on the season…hit .430…had a career-high nine kills against Bard on Feb. 27…had a season-high 16 attack attempts against Milwaukee School of Engineering Mar. 16.

PERSONAL: Stephen and Kristin Halberg…siblings are Daniel (17) and Andrew (14)…chose Vassar for its “great volleyball and academics”…plans to major in English…chose Vassar over University of Delaware, and Juniata.
