PRIOR TO VASSAR: Competed for the Knights of Bravo Medical Magnet High School...ran both track and cross country...posted personal best times of 4:38 for the mile, 2:03 for the 800 meter, 52 seconds for the 400 meters and 15:54 for the three-mile event...AP Scholar with Distinction...High Honors from Bravo...National Honor Society member...South Central Scholar. 

PERSONAL: Parents Vidal Gutierrez, Sr. and Veronica Almaraz...majoring in political science...chose Vassar over over Franklin & Marshall and UC-Santa Barbara because of "the people and the relationships I was able to make with them."
