Erica Maker joined the Brewers coaching staff in December 2015. She brings a wealth of experience with her to Vassar, having assistant coached the Williams College Cross Country and Track & Field teams for 6 years, Trinity University (Texas) for a year, and two years of assistant cross country coaching at Northwestern University.

During her time at Williams, Maker coached 10 student-athletes to All-American honors in cross country as well as multiple track All-Americans, including 2009 NCAA 10k National Champion Lauren Philbrook. As a team, the Williams Eph harriers were perennial top three NESCAC Championship finishers and qualified for nationals every season, with a combined total of eight top 10 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships. The men’s and women’s teams both earned third place finishes at nationals in 2008. During Maker’s last four years at Williams, the women’s cross country team finished in the top five at Nationals each year, including second place for the women in 2013.

During the 2009-2010 academic year, Maker was the assistant coach at Trinity University (Texas), where she was responsible for designing and implementing training for the men’s and women’s distance runners in cross country and track. That winter, the Trinity men finished second at the NCAA Indoor Track Championships in the DMR - the first All-American relay team in school history. The Trinity Tigers earned seven All-American honors during the 2009-2010 Cross Country & Track campaigns. Maker currently lives in Poughkeepsie with her husband Mike (Marist College Head Men’s Basketball Coach) and son Jack.
