2019-20: Finished the year going 38-33 at foil… Also posted an 11-6 mark in sabre… Claimed the individual NEIFC foil title… Placed 33
rd overall in foil at the NCAA Northeast Regional… Went 15-6 at the Vassar Invite with wins over Yeshiva (1-0), Hunter (2-1), Stevens (2-1), Haverford (2-1), West Point (3-0), and Drew (2-1)… Recorded 11 sabre wins at the Matt Lampell Hudson River Invite… Was 7-1 at the Northeast Conference Multi-Meet #3 with wins against Boston University (2-0), Dartmouth (3-0), and Sacred Heart (2-1).
2018-19: Returned to the Brewers midway through the season at the Vassar Invitational… Posted a 24-21 overall record in foil… At the Northeast Conference Multi-Meet #2 went 8-3 with a 3-0 win over UMass and a 2-0 victory against Boston University… Finished tied for 10
th at the NEIFC Championships… Placed 25
th at the NCAA Northeast Regionals.
2017-18: Berger returned for his second year and contributed immensely to the Men’s Foil team, earning the third most wins in foil… finished with a record of 47-38…finished his season going 2-1 competing against Columbia University…went undefeated for the day at the Matt Lampell Hudson River Invite, finishing 18-0 and beating Cornell, RPI, Drew, Vassar B, RIT and University of Rochester…. Earned impressive wins Cal Tech (2-0) and University of Florida (3-0) on January 14
th, 2018… Competed in the 2018 NCAA Northeast Regional meet, finishing 31
st after earning a victory over MIT.
PRIOR TO VASSAR: The Brooklyn Fencing Center product comes to Vassar as a USFA C-16 Rated fencer...finished 20th out of 145 fencers at the Division II Summer National Championships in 2015.
PERSONAL: Son of Tracey Altman and David Berger...has one sister, Tashi...Cognitive science major.
