2020-21: Season canceled due to COVID-19 ...
2019-20: Named NFC Second Team All-Star for sabre…As a junior, led the entire Brewers team with a 95-22 sabre record… Went 17-4 in the season-opening Vassar Invitational and then was perfect with a 17-0 at the Matt Lampell Hudson River Invite… Kept the momentum rolling the following meet, tallying a 16-1 mark at the Drew Tournament… Led Vassar with an 11-7 mark at the Northeast Multi-Meet #2, defeating Brown (2-1). Sacred Heart (3-0), and NJIT (3-0)… Went 8-0 against Cleveland State and Detroit-Mercy… Recorded a 10-5 record at the Traditional Multi-Meet… In the dual meet against Yale, was 2-1… Heintz then was 12-0 at the Northeast Multi-Meet #3, going 3-0 against UMass, Boston University, Dartmouth, and Sacred Heart… Reached the semifinals of the NCAA Northeast Regional to place 20th overall.
2018-19: Strong member of the sabre squad, going 46-12… Opened 20-4 at the Vassar Invite on Nov. 11… Was undefeated at 16-0 at the Matt Lampell Invite… Recorded 3-0 victories against Drew, RIT, and Binghamton.
2017-18: Heintz was a first-year standout, earning the most wins on the men’s fencing team… he fenced sabre for the Brewers, finishing with an 80-21 record…Heintz competed in the 2018 NCAA Northeast Regional meet and finished 18
th… Heintz went undefeated at the Matt Lampell Hudson River Invite (18-0)… went undefeated at the Traditional Multi-Meet against Harvard, SHU and NYU, finishing 15-6 on the day… went undefeated against UCSD (3-0), Air Force Academy (3-0), CalTech (2-0) and University of Florida (3-0).
PRIOR TO VASSAR: Currently ranked in USFA at 24th in junior men's sabre and 40th in Division II men's sabre.
PERSONAL: Parents Robert and Liza Heintz...father Robert '77, mother Liza '79, aunt Julia Murray '79, uncle Tim Yusef '95 and sister Alia '12 all graduated from Vassar...sister Alia was a foilist and captain for the Vassar fencing team...chose Vassar over Columbia because " wanted a small liberal arts college with a great fencing coach."
