Vassar College Athletics

2019-20: Finished the season with 20 foil bout victories… Was 11-6 at the Vassar Invitational with wins over Hunter (2-1), Stevens (1-0), Haverford (2-1), and Lafayette (2-0)… Went 4-2 at the Northeast Conference Multi-Meet #3, winning 2-0 against UMass and 2-0 over Dartmouth.

2018-19: Led the foil squad with 79-23 record… Also was 2-2 in epee… Opened at the Vassar Invite at 17-2 and then was 19-0 at the Matt Lampell Hudson River Invite on Nov. 18… Continued his winning streak into the Drew Invite on Dec. 1, going 17-0… At the Northeast Conference Multi-Meet on Feb. 9 was 11-1 with big wins over UMass (3-0), Boston University (2-0), and Dartmouth (3-0)… Closed the season with a 2-1 victory against Columbia… Placed eight at the NEIFC Championships…. Placed 30^th at the NCAA Northeast Regionals.

PREVIOUS TO VASSAR: Member of the varsity fencing team at Brookline High School... Awarded captain and MVP as a senior... Also competed for the International Fencing Club.

PERSONAL: Son of Cherie and Stephan Gaehde... Two siblings in Steffi (20) and Lilly (24)... Chose Vassar College for its engaging and challenging academic community and its inclusive and friendly environment.
