2019: Liberty League All-Academic selection…had a breakout sophomore season with the Brewers, starting all 19 games and spending 1035 minutes on the field…a dynamic player, proving useful on both offense and defense…helped Vassar to seven shutouts…contributed two defensive saves for the Brewers.
2018: Even through injury, McGrath shined as a first-year midfielder for the Brewers…was a standout in transition for the squad, tallying eight shots on goal…scored a huge goal in the Brewer win over RPI…tacked on 387 minutes.
PRIOR TO VASSAR: Was a four-year standout on the field hockey pitch for the Clippers of Yarmouth High School...also letters in basketball, ice hockey and softball...was a senior captain for her field hockey, ice hockey and softball teams...named Team Defensive Player of the Year for her field hockey squad as a senior...earned Western Maine All-Conference First Team in 2017...scored 11 goals in 2016 for her field hockey squad...also was the Team MVP as a senior on the ice for the Clippers...clocked six homers as a junior in softball...helped her team win the softball state title in 2015, also lifting the field hockey squad to a regional final in 2016...Honor Roll all four years at Yarmouth...member of Student Senate.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Jessica and Kevin McGrath...has three siblings, Daly, Jack and Sally...father Kevin played Division I baseball at Princeton University...grandfather Thomas Kopp was a collegiate baseball player at Division I University of Connecticut, also playing minor league baseball in the Minnesota Twins system...chose Vassar College because "of the opportunities I had to balance challenging academics with participation in athletics."
