2016: Posted a 3-2 record with a 7.60 ERA, appearing in eight games and starting four... Finished a team-high three games... Struck out the third-most batters for the Brewers (32)... Tossed four shutout innings in his first appearance, fanning four for his first win of the season, a 2-0 victory over Fitchburgh State on 3/12... In his second start, pitched seven innings of one-run ball for his second win of the season, a 5-1 victory over St. Lawrence University on 3/25... In his very next outing, tossed seven innings, striking out a season-high eight batters and allowing four runs in 6-4 win over Skidmore College on 4/1.

2015: Returned to the mound for Vassar mid-season, and bolstered the pitching staff...got into seven games as a junior, making five starts...settled in down the stretch for the Brewers...posted a 5.81 ERA and a 1-3 record...made his first start in nearly two years against RPI APril 5, allowing four runs over 4.1 innings...went eight innings against Rochester April 18, allowing four runs while fanning seven Yellowjackets...tossed nine innings in a 10-4 win over Bard, allowing three earned and eight hits, striking out eight batters...was third in innings pitched...tied for second on the team in strikeouts with 29.

2014: Had an unfortunate end to the season, as he was shut down after one outing for Vassar...pitched the final two innings against Waynesburg in the opening game of the season, allowing two hits and striking out three as he picked up the save in a 4-2 win...had to have season-ending knee surgury a week later, ending his second season with the Brewer baseball team...should return in 2015 to help anchor a strong pitching staff. 

2013: Returned to the diamond after missing a year with an injured knee, and showed the promise that had coaches excited when he arrived at Vassar...became an important part of the rotation immediately, pitching in eight games, all as a starter...finished the year with a very impressive 2.73 earned run average...struck out 36 hitters in 52.2 innings of work...allowed just 16 earned runs...finshed with a 2-3 record...earned his first collegiate start March 18 against Oswego, going six innings and allowing just two earned runs, fanning four...earned his first win as a Brewer against St. Lawrence, striking out eight while surrendering just one run...struck out eight against Skidmore College April 20, giving up two earned in a 3-0 loss...never allowed more than three earned runs in any of his eight starts.

PRIOR TO VASSAR: Lettered four years in baseball at St. Ignatius College Prep (CA) for head coach Matt Stecher…earned 2012 All-WCAL Honorable mention…lettered four years in basketball for head coach Rob Marcaletti…awarded 2011-2012 Sanfranpreps.com and SF Examiner Men’s Basketball Player of the Year…holds the WCAL record for most free throws made in one season…earned All-WCAL first team in basketball in 2011-2012…earned All-WCAL second team in basketball in 2010-2011.

PERSONAL: Parents are Richard and Suzanne Mrlik…older brother is Zander and younger brother is Mattie…is an economics major...chose Vassar because of the great academics...also plays basketball at Vassar.
