2016: Liberty League All-Acadmic Team... Posted a 3-2 record with two saves with a 6.23 ERA over nine appearances... Struck out 11, walked four over 54 at-bats... Picked up first win of the season against St. Lawrence University on 3/26, allowing no runs on three hits in 1.2 innings in 9-6 victory... Picked up second win against Skidmore College on 4/2, allowing no runs on one hit over season-high three innings in 6-5 victory... Picked up third win against RIT on 4/24, allowing no runs on three hits over two innnings in 6-5 victory... Notched first save against Skidmore College on 4/1, allowing no runs on no hits over one inning in 6-4 win... Notched second save against Clarkson University on 4/10, allowing no runs on one hit through 1.1 innings in 9-7 victory.Â
2015: The junior reliever dealt with some arm issues before being shut down mid-way through the season...saw action in six games as a junior, posting an uncharacteristic 9.95 ERA...still one of the team's most lively and energetic players...went two innings against Clarkson March 19, allowing just one hit...went 2-0 on the season with a save...earned the team's first win against Southern Vermont...came in to work a scoreless eighth inning against RPI at Columbia University, picking up the win as VC won in extras...worked a scoreless inning at RIT April 11.
2014: The reliever had arguably the best season ever for a bullpen member at Vassar...finished the season with a 0.00 earned run average, allowing no earned runs in 16 innings of work this year...surrendered just three runs total all season...earned All-Liberty League Second Team at relief pitcher...struck out 10 batters, allowing 15 hits...posted four saves on the year, which tied for the second-most ever at Vassar...already tied for the second-most saves in program history with six...earned his first save of the season against Clarkson April 5, going two-thirds of an inning...worked a stellar 1.1 innings against St. Lawrence April 22, allowing just one hit...earned his last save in 2014 against Clarkson in the Liberty League Tournament, going 1.2 innings while allowing three hits in a 4-2 win...posted scoreless outings in 10 of his 11 outings this campaign. 2013: Had a fantastic season in his first year as a Brewer, going 3-2 in 23.2 innings of action...one of the best relievers in the Liberty League...earned All-Liberty League Second Team...appeared in 11 games out of the bullpen, registering a 3.04 earned run average...led the team with two saves...earned his first collegiate win against Rochester in game two, going one and two-thirds innings, allowing just one hit...was shutdown against Clarkson April 4, allowing no runs over four innings, striking out three...earned his first save of the year against Skidmore, surrendering no runs in three innings in a 2-1 win over the Thoroughbreds...gave up just three earned runs over his last six appearances, a span of 10.1 innings.Â
PRIOR TO VASSAR: Lettered two years in baseball at St. Ignatius College Prep (CA) for head coach Matt Stecher…given the Coaches Award on his CCS Champion team in 2012 for baseball…named City All-Star for baseball…participated in water polo and basketball.
PERSONAL: Parents are Tony and Mardi Cucalon…has one brother, AJ (24)...attended high school with Vassar teammates Johnny Mrlik and Nick Johnson…majoring in political science.
