Katherine Coffin was named assistant coach of Vassar men's and women's rowing team in the winter of 2016. In 2015, Coffin earned bachelor degrees in geology and environmental geoscience at the University at Buffalo. She currently works at the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation in the Department of Permits.

Katherine competed on the Division I level at Buffalo and was a member of the athletic departments Student Athlete Advisory Committee for two years. A Poughkeepsie, NY native, Coffin attended Our Lady of Lourdes High School where she raced in the 2009 Scholastic Rowing Association National Championship. At Buffalo, Katherine was a member of the 2015  CAA All-Academic Team for Women’s Rowing and earned three medals at the CAA Conference championship over her four years along with earning medals at both the Dad Vail Regatta and the IRA National Championship in 2012.
