Andrew Kiriakedes

Andrew Kiriakedes, a former infielder with nearby Marist College, joined Vassar as assistant baseball coach in 2007. Kiriakedes, who gained international experience coaching in Prague in the summer of 2008, assists head coach Jon Martin in all areas of the Vassar baseball program, with a concentration on hitting and fielding.

Kiriakedes served as head coach for a USA Athletes International Team that competed in Prague Baseball Week in June 2008.

Prior to Vassar, Kiriakedes coached for a year as a volunteer assistant at his alma mater. In that season, the Red Foxes appeared in the 2006 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Tournament. He coached one All-MAAC First Team selection as well as three players named All-MAAC Second Team. He also mentored an undrafted free agent in the Kansas City Royals system. Kiriakedes served in multiple capacities, acting as an infield and hitting instructor, along with acting as the team's equipment manager.

As an infielder for the Red Foxes, Kiriakedes was a four-year starter who captained the squad in 2006, his senior season. In 2005, Kiriakedes was named MAAC Tournament MVP and awarded his team's Coaches Award, as Marist appeared in the NCAA Division I Tournament.

Kiriakedes has also competed in numerous summer baseball leagues. In 2005, Kiriakedes played for the Staunton Braves (Valley League Baseball) where he was named Valley League All-Star Shortstop along with receiving the Staunton Braves Commitment Award. Kiriakedes played for the 2004 New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL) Champion Amsterdam Mohawks and the 2003 New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) Champion Keene Swamp Bats.

Kiriakedes has also worked as a counselor for several summer baseball camps, including the Hudson Valley Baseball Clinic and the Valley League's Staunton Braves.

A native of Sheffield, Massachusetts, Kiriakedes graduated from Marist with a B.S. in Business Administration and an emphasis on Human Resource Management, as well as a minor in Psychology.
