2019: Appeared in 10 games as a reliever… Teams second best ERA at 5.57… Pitched 21.0 innings and was fourth for Vassar with 19 strikeouts… Posted an opposing batting average of .286… Tallied four games with three strikeouts… Season-best 3.00 ERA against Bard (3/24).
2018: The sophomore hurler saw action in nine games for the Brewers in 2018...had nine innings of work in 2018...struck out five batters...worked a scoreless inning of relief in a 13-9 win over Bard College May 5.
2017: The freshman right-hander found a groove as a mid-week starter for the Brewers, as the hard-throwing pitcher appeared in 12 games with four starts in 2017...had a 7.88 ERA in 12 appearances, seeing action in 24.0 innings...was 2-3 as a newcomer, posting his first win on April 12 against CCNY, tossing six innings of scoreless baseball, allowing four hits while fanning four...started against Mount Saint Mary College and allowed three runs and six hits over five innings to pick up the win.
PRIOR TO VASSAR: Was a two-sport letter winner for the Panthers of Palos Verdes Peninsula High School...named as a co-captain as a senior in 2016...also part of the Garciaparra Baseball Group and member of the South Bay Saints travel ball squad...named Valedictorian of his class...Scholar-Athlete honoree, as well as National Honor Society member in 2015-16.
PERSONAL: Son of Patrick and Francine Mathiesen...has one sister, Olivia (16)...undeclared major...chose Vassar over Swarthmore College, Pacific University and Cal Tech.
