PRIOR TO VASSAR: Was a four-year letter winner for the cross country and track and field teams at Concordia Lutheran High School...voted as the Most Valuable Runner during her sophomore, junior and senior campaigns for cross country, earning the same honor in track as well...earned All-Summit Athletic Conference as s sophomore, junior and senior in cross country, while winning the conference title in 2015 and 2016...qualified for the Indiana All-Star team in 2016...has personal bests coming into Vassar of 18:56 in the 5000m, 11:41 in the 3000 meters, 5:32 in the 1600 meters and 2:36 in the half mile...was the valedictorian at Concordia Lutheran...National Honor Society secretary in 2016-17...recipient of the Concordia Scholar scholarship...also received the Hadden Scholars, Evans-Moss and Kilbourne scholarships...National Merit Commended Scholar. 

PERSONAL: Parents John and Sarah Martin...has one sibling, Caleb (16)...majoring in science, technology, and society studies...chose Vassar because it "encourages exploration of different academic subjects, which is important to me because I enjoy learning and I want to study as many things as I can while I have the chance. Besides the academics, I loved the campus and the people here; I can easily picture myself living at Vassar for the next four years."
