2020: Started four of the five games he appeared in… Finished the year with two hits and two runs with one double… Hit a double against Rivier (2/29) and scored one run… Tallied another hit and run against Cazenovia (3/12).
2019: As a junior, moved primarily to playing catcher… Played in 26 games while making 20 starts… Improved his batting average to .311, hitting two home runs and seven doubles… Tacked on 23 hits with 11 runs and nine RBI… Stole one base… Season-high three hits against Old Westbury (3/27)… Hit first career home run against Otterbein (3/10) and second against Union (4/20).
2018: Continued his role as catcher and bullpen arm for Vassar, seeing action in seven games as a reliever and 15 games as an offensive player...batted .250 as a sophomore, doubling once while walking four times...was 5-for-20 in 2018, scoring four runs...started four games for Vassar at DH...was 2-for-4 with a double against Moravian College April 21...scored twice against St. Lawrence March 31...on the mound, finished the year with a 9.45 ERA though he had a 3.00 ERA until his last outing of the season...came on and worked a scoreless frame against Whittier College March 30...struck out one batter in a clean inning against Clarkson April 13...fanned the side in a 9-4 win over Lehman April 22...worked a 1-2-3 inning against Mount St. Vincent April 24...punched out nine hitters in the 6.2 innings he pitched.
2017: Was a dual threat for the Brewers during his freshman season, seeing action both behind the plate and on the mound for Vassar...pitched in nine games in 2017, posting a 4.70 ERA while allowing just one hit all season...didn't allow a run during his first seven appearances...struck out five hitters on the season...also batted .231 on the year, going 3-for-13 with an RBI, three runs scored and a homer...singled in his first collegiate at-bat against Westfield State...only start came against Cairn University...went 1-for-2 with a homerun against RIT April 8...was 1-for-1 with a single in the Liberty League Tournament vs. RIT.
PRIOR TO VASSAR: Was a two-sport letter winner for the Blue Devils of Chenango Forks High School...played three seasons for the baseball team, earning captain responsibilities during his senior campaign...was named as an All-Division player as a junior, picking up All-Southern Tier Athletic Conference honors as a senior...also lettered in swimming.
PERSONAL: Parents Rob and Angela Pinataro...has one sister, Cassie...economics major...chose Vassar over Northeastern and Fordham.
