2017: Had a strong senior season for the Brewers, earning All-Liberty League Second Team honors...posted an ERA of 4.87 for the season, going 4-3 for the year...appeared in a career-high 12 games, starting nine times...went seven or more innings in three contests...allowed 60 hits over 57.1 innings of work...struck out 37 on the season...started the year with seven innings of one-run baseball, allowing six hits and fanning seven in a 3-2 win over Keene State...got his first win of the year against Union College, allowing three runs over seven innings in a 4-3 win April 14...allowed just one hit over seven innings against Bard College April 29, striking out four runs...earned Liberty League Pitcher of the Week after Bard outing, also picking up ABCAÂ National Pitcher of the Week Honorable Mention nods...allowed no runs and no hits over four innings against SLU May 6...finishes his career at Vassar as the career leader in shutouts (3), innings pitched (219.2), wins (15), while ranking second in career ERA (3.65), games started (34) and complete games (12).Â
2016: Liberty League All-Academic Team... Posted a 1-4 record with a team-best 3.25 ERA over nine starts... Allowed 20 earned runs on 63 hits, while striking out a team-high 44 batters over a team-high 55.1 innings... Pitched a team-high seven innings three times this season against Skidmore College (4/2), West. Conn. St. (4/17) and RIT (4/24)... Picked up his first win in his first start of the season, allowing three runs (none earned) on six hits through six innings in a 13-3 win against Plattsburgh State on 3/13... Struck out a season-best nine batters against RIT on 4/24... Allowed no runs on two hits over six innings in 5-0 loss to Millikin University on 3/20... Also tossed seven shutout innings against RIT on 3/24.
2015: Had another strong campaign for Vassar on the mound, as the sophomore shined late in the season...led the team with three wins, chalking up a 3-5 record and a 4.75 earned run average...pitched in eight games, all starts, leading the pitching staff in complete games with three and games started...also tossed a team-leading 47.1 innings on the year...struck out 29 batters, tied for the second-most on the team...finished the year with three straight quality starts...won three of his final four starts for Vassar...against Rochester April 19, went 7.2 innings, allowing no earned runs and just five hits in a tough 1-0 loss...earned the win over Bard April 25, as he allowed two earned runs over seven strong innings, fanning five batters...won his last start of the season, scattering eight hits and one earned run in a 4-2 victory over CCNY May 3...went 5.1 innings at RIT April 11, striking out five Tiger batters.Â
2014: Was an immediate impact on the hill for the Brewers, as he was named as the Liberty League Pitcher of the Year as a freshman...also earned Liberty League First Team accolades after posting a 1.96 ERA overall for the season...went 7-1 in 10 appearances, starting eight games for the Brewers...tossed a team-high 59.2 innings, striking out 25 batters and allowing just 13 earned runs...tossed five complete games, with two of them in shutout variety...tied for the second-most wins ever at VC...chalked up an amazing 0.64 ERA and 6-0 win-loss record, allowing just three earned runs in 42.1 innings in conference play this season...earned his first collegiate win with a six-inning performance against Franklin & Marshall...tossed a two-hit, complete-game against Bard May 2, needing only 70 pitches...shutout out Union April 27, allowing four hits over seven in a 10-0 win...posted seven straight starts in the middle of the year with two or fewer earned runs, with five of those featuring no earned scores...already tied for the most shutouts ever in program history.Â
PRIOR TO VASSAR: Lettered two years in baseball at Radnar High School (PA) for head coach Mark Jordan…named to First Team All-Main Line and Second Team All-Central League in baseball…lettered one year in soccer for head coach Joe Carnolo.
PERSONAL: Parents are Todd and Edwina Erkis…has two siblings, Eric (24) and Nicole (27)...mathematics major.
