Eugene Lee (Chico, CA) has been selected to the NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Singles Tournament it was revealed Wednesday evening. Lee becomes Vassar's first singles selection since the Brewers had four straight selections from 2010-13. The individual championship will be held May 23-26 at the Champions Tennis Club in Chattanooga, TN.
Lee had a standout junior campaign for the Brewers, posting a 14-4 record playing out of the top flight during the dual match spring season, including three wins in his last four decisions. In two matches at the Liberty League Championship, Lee scored a 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 first singles win against Union in the semifinals before cruising to a 6-1, 6-1 victory against Skidmore in the championship final.
Lee, who was named the Liberty League Singles Performer of the Week twice in 2025-26, holds an 18-8 overall record covering both the fall and spring semesters.
Lee will be the first Brewer to enter the singles draw since 2013 when Vassar Hall of Famer Andrew Guzick was selected three straight years from 2011-13. In 2011, Guzick won two matches, advancing to the Round of 16. Before Guzick, Mike Mattleson won a match in the 2010 singles championship.
The Brewers closed the 2026 season with a program record 16 wins, including an 8-0 record against Liberty League opponents during the regular season.
