Troy, NY - The Liberty League announced its weekly award winners for the week ending February 8th as Vassar College Men's Basketball junior Shea Fitzgerald was named the league's Performer of the Week for the first time this season.

Vassar finished the week going 2-1 overall with victories over Skidmore and Bard before suffering a narrow three-point loss on the road at RPI as Fitzgerald led the way averaging 23.7 points, 4.7 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game. The junior finished the three-game stretch shooting 51.2-percent overall, 60.7-percent from three-point range and 83.3-percent from the free throw line.

Fitzgerald notched a game-high 27 points on 8-for-13 overall, 6-for-8 from three and 5-for-6 from the free throw line along with five rebounds, five assists and two steals in the win over the Thoroughbreds on Tuesday before adding 21 points (7-for-13 FG, 6-for-8 3PT), five rebounds, three assists and two steals in the victory over the Raptors. Fitzgerald closed the weekend with a game-high 23 points and six assists on 7-for-17 shooting (5-for-12 from three) in the three-point setback against the Engineers.

Fitzgerald leads the team in points per game at 16.0 while ranking second on the team in assists with 63 and is tied for the team lead in steals with 34. He currently sits fifth in the Liberty League in points per game and seventh in assists while leading the conference in free throw percentage at 87.0-percent and is second in the league in three-pointers made per game at 2.8.

Vassar closes out its home regular season schedule this week as the Brewers host Union on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. followed by Senior Day against RIT on Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
