Poughkeepsie, NY - The third-seeded Vassar College Men's Basketball team begins its hunt for a second Liberty League title on Tuesday as the Brewers will play host to the sixth-seeded Skidmore Thoroughbreds in the First Round of the Liberty League Championship. Tip-off with the Throughbreds is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at the Athletics and Fitness Center.

Scouting The Thoroughbreds

• Skidmore begins the postseason at 13-12 overall and 9-9 in Liberty League play to earn the sixth seed in the league tournament.
• Jacob Gooden has led the way for the Thoroughbreds with 19.1 points per game and has added 23 steals.
• Aidan Roy is the other double-digit point scorer with 14.3 per game and is the team leader in assists with 92 and steals with 33.
• Joey Skoric posts 9.9 points per contests and is the team's leading rebounder with 7.4 per game and is the blocks leader with 45.
• Charlie Fantom chips in 7.5 points and 5.2 rebounds per game while Nick Padilla adds 7.1 points and 37 assists.
• Jack LaGarde tallies 4.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 30 blocks along with Hakeem Daphnis ranking second on the team in steals.

Regular Season Matchups

• Vassar swept the regular season series in 2026 as the Brewers defeated Skidmore, 67-46, in Saratoga Springs on January 20.
• 11 different players scored for Vassar as the Brewers stifled the Thoroughbreds to 29.5-percent shooting from the field.
• Zinn scored a career-high 13 points while Vassar dominated the glass with 20 offensive rebounds.
• In the matchup in Poughkeepsie, offense was the story as Vassar held off a late surge from Skidmore to win 82-75 to complete the series sweep.

Liberty League Recent Championship History

• Vassar's first ever Liberty League Championship crown came following the 2021-22 season where the Brewers toppled Skidmore 65-48.
• Since 2009-10, the Thoroughbreds have captured five Liberty League championships (2010, 2012, 2015, 2016, 2019) and made six appearances in the NCAA Tournament.
• The two teams have met three times in the postseason since 2012 with the Brewers holding a 2-1 record over Skidmore.
